About Us

It was in 1976 when the idea to start a project for hearing impaired children was conceived by Rotary Club Nadiad. Kheda district was one of the most prosperous districts of Gujarat. But it had no facility to impart education for deaf children. On 13th July, 1976 Rotary Club Nadiad resolved to form a dedicated Trust viz. Rotary Club Nadiad Samaj seva And Sansodhan Trust to start the project for education and betterment of hearing impaired children. An adhoc committee of 9 members was formed.

Audiometry And Speech Therapy Center

Audiometry and Speech Therapy Center ls very Important for the educational institution of hearing impaired children. Therefore in order to providing diagnosis for hearing loss and provide speech to these children as well as other people of Kheda district, this center is equipped with all required equipment for various Test. The organization ls donated by the Mrs. Savitaben and Vallavbhai Patel Foundation Trust _ America.

It Is The Only Institution In Kheda District And Surrounding Areas That Provides Facilities For Various Types Of Tests, and also affiliated with government ‘s RBSK PROGRAMME OF New born hearing screening as well as post operative cohlearImplant therapeutic . AND ALSO affiliated with central government ‘s ADIP SCHEME. FOR post operative therapeutic.

The Following facilities Are Available:

  1. Whether a newborn baby or a child younger than 1 year has a hearing problem or not is determined here through the initial -0.A.E. (Auto Acoustic Emission) hearing screening test.
  2. In addition, children from 1 to 3 years of age are tested for hearing loss through the F.FA. (Free Field Audiometry) test.
  3. For children above 5 years of age or other persons with hearing problems, the type of hearing loss and the percentage of hearing loss can be known through the P.T.A. (pure Tone Audiometry) test.
  4. In addition, if a person has a problem related to the middle ear, then there is an Impedance Audiometry facility for that.
  5. With the support of the donors of the organization and under government assistance schemes, children are given hearing aids according to their hearing loss.Similarly, Aided Audiometry Test provides information about how much the child hears from hearing aid.
  6. How to further use the child's residual hearing through hearing aid is done through Auditory training in which the child is trained to listen different sounds like environmental, speech sounds,words, nursery rhymes, etc.
  7. In addition, children are trained in the initial stage under speech therapy by Dr. Speech Software so that the child is given an understanding of the intensity, Sound. rhythm, etc. of the sound and is trained to produce sound and to cultivate the quality of the sound.
  8. Then in Speech Therapy, The child is trained in stages from speech muscles exercises to different vowels, consonants,then two-syllable words to sentences to conversation level training. Speech continuously evaluated by Audiologist and Speech Therapist.
  9. Here we also provide AUDITORY VERBAL THERAPY to a children who gone through cochlear Implant surgery and also provide them mapping and counselling facilities regarding their cochlear implant
  10. Apart from this, we have the Ear Mould Lab which makes moulds for children's hearing aids. And the maintenance and repair of hearing aids is also done with the help of proper technicians, which is also benefited by other people of Kheda district.
  11. Apart from this, the parents of the child are also given proper guidance regarding cochlear Implant, hearing aids, auditory training and speech therapy.
  12. We are also provide theraputic facility for normal children with having speech disorders like Misarticulation,stemmering,voice problems or others.
