S. G. Brahmabhatta Badhir Vidhyavihar

Badhir Vidyavihar started auspiciously from 1-8-1976.The dedicated members of the Rotary Club embarked on a long and arduous journey for hearing impaired children education as well as their upliftment. In the beginning, the firm determination to build a model school and the strong desire to do everything for it was the capital in their hand. Arrangements were made to seat the first class in the Rotary Club's own meeting hall. In the month of August itself, the members of the ad hoc committee stayed at Mumbai for 15 days continuously and tried to collect the necessary funds. A very good response was received from the donors. With the cooperation of generous donors like Mr. Dharamsinh Desai, Mr. Chotubhai Patel, Mr. Mohanbhai Patel, Mr. Manubhai Patel, much encouragement was received, and efforts were made to select a suitable land for the institution. From Shri Muljibhai Brahmabhatt in memory of his father Late Somabhai Gendalbhai Brahmabhatt Rs. 1,50,000 was generously donated and it was decided to name the school Shri S.G. Brahmabhat Bhadir Vidyavihar. It is very natural for any organization to have financial constraints in the initial period and in those circumstances one should keep an eye on the expenses while planning and do not dare to spend more than what is available. In such a dire situation Dr. Jayant Shah, the captain of the institute, acted with great foresight and perseverance. While the other members of the committee were stuck in solving the small and big problems of the present, Dr. Jayant Shah was the one person who saw the clear shape of a grand organization to be fulfilled in the future. A large plot of land was purchased keeping in view the future requirements of the institute. Dt. On 22-10 1977, a deaf student of the school laid down foundation stone of the school (KHATMUHURAT).

The design of the school building was as per the recommendations of the London based Royal Society of the Deaf. Construction of the school's main building with classroom facilities began as recommended by the Royal Society of the Deaf. Shri Santram Maharaj allotted the Arogya Bhavan of the temple and the school activity continued there for three years. A new building has been built in 1979. After completion the school was shifted there. Every year there was a gradual increase in the classes.

Actor Mr. Sanjivkumar who wonderfully played the role of a deaf man in the movie "KOSHISH" and received national award.,inaugurated Shri S.G.BRAMBHATT BADHIR VIDHYAVIHAR on 29-4-1984
